Functional Work

We offer a full line of functional pots. They are available in black, shino, and blue. Porcelain pots are available in blue and white, or black and white. Each pot is uniquely different from the other pots of its type. The pictures you see are only an example of the types of pots we have available in our showroom. If you are local, or happen to be in the area, call us and stop by to see the work in person. Otherwise, we are happy to email you a snapshot of the available pots so you can choose the particular one you want. .

We offer stoneware and porcelain functional pottery for your kitchen needs and dining pleasure. It is made by hand on a potter's wheel in our rural studio. We mix our own clay and glazes, and fire a large gas kiln to Cone 10 (2350*F.) This high-fired ware is completely safe and very durable. Lead-free, use it in your oven, microwave and dishwasher. Do not subject pots to thermal shock; e.g. from refrigerator to oven, and do not use them on the top of the stove. Platters are not recommended for oven use as the large surface may heat unevenly and cause cracking. We both love to cook (and to eat) so we have refined what we think is a very useful line of pots to enhance our daily life and that of our customers. Currently we offer these forms in stoneware: Baking Dish for $60, Mug for $18, Pitcher for $32, and Small Bowls (in purple and black color only) for $16 each. In porcelain we offer: Face Plate $65, Face Tumblers $14, Face Cereal Bowls $16, and Smiling Flower Bowls (ice cream size) $12. All porcelain pots are made and decorated by Peter's wife Eva, who is also a Kansas City Art Institute graduate in ceramics and a part time potter.

We are currently making the pots for Jamie and Matt's wedding in Aug 2014. They have picked out 5 pots in a place setting, that look like the picture called dinnerware, but in the colors of the picture of small bowls. Their custom dinnerware consists of a dinner plate $45, small plate $25, low bowl $30, small bowl $16 and mug $18. They would also like some serving pieces.
